Vietnam launches online agricultural wholesale platform for Singapore

VNFruitVegMarket-Vietnam Agri Wholesale Platform has announced the development of an online agricultural wholesale market connecting Vietnamese suppliers with buyers in Singapore. The platform is expected to become operational by the end of September 2026.

Buyers will be able to source Vietnamese agricultural products in volumes ranging from individual cartons and pallets to larger orders, with product information and pricing available through the platform.

The marketplace is intended for small and medium-sized enterprises, retailers, restaurants, food and beverage businesses, distributors, and other trading partners, in addition to larger importers.

VNFruitVegMarket will connect with warehousing facilities in Singapore to support storage, consolidation, distribution, and domestic delivery.

The platform will include a group-buying mechanism that combines demand from multiple buyers to optimize order volumes and costs. A multi-dimensional auction system will allow transactions to be structured according to supply, demand, volume, and timing.

Artificial intelligence will be used to analyze market demand and supply planning, with the aim of reducing shortages and excess inventory. Buyers will also have access to information on products, specifications, available volumes, and prices.

According to VNFruitVegMarket representative Le Ngoc Nguyen, Vietnamese agricultural exports face challenges related to buyer connections, order volumes, logistics, inventory management, and distribution in destination markets.

Singapore was selected due to its reliance on imported food and agricultural products and its proximity to Vietnam. Suppliers will need to meet Singapore’s requirements for quality, food safety, traceability, and trading procedures.
