Georgia’s watermelon and melon exports more than double in July

Georgia’s watermelon and melon exports more than doubled in July 2026 compared with the same month of the previous year, reaching a record level, according to data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

The country exported 2,526 tonnes of watermelons and melons worth $1.067 million in July, compared with 451 tonnes in July 2025.

Russia was the largest destination, receiving 1,339 tonnes worth $775,400. Armenia followed with 1,079 tonnes valued at $259,300, while Belarus received 108 tonnes worth $32,200.

Russia accounted for around 73% of Georgia’s export revenue from watermelons and melons in July, making it the largest market for the country’s seasonal produce.
