Zhejiang exports fresh grapes to Belgium for first time

A shipment of 30 boxes of Shine Muscat grapes weighing 150 kg was exported from Cixi City, Ningbo, in China’s Zhejiang Province to Belgium on September 10. The shipment marks Zhejiang’s first export of fresh grapes to Belgium.

Cixi Customs provided guidance on European Union quarantine requirements and pesticide residue limits ahead of the shipment. It also conducted risk monitoring and assisted the supplying farm in meeting export requirements.

Due to the limited shelf life of fresh grapes, customs provided priority and appointment-based inspections for locally inspected fresh and perishable agricultural products to reduce clearance times.

Cixi Customs supervised exports of 19.6 tons of fresh grapes between January and August 2026, with a total value of 273,000 yuan (US$40,400).
