The world’s highest priced mango can cost as much as the equivalent of Rs. 40,000 per piece

The Miyazaki mango is believed to be the most expensive mango. It’s currently being displayed at Koppal. The price for each of the fruits is the staggering amount of $40,000 (EUR440) The Horticulture Department is planning to make it more popular within this region of the Koppal district. It is a popular variety throughout Japan.

Some other popular varieties like Koppal Kesar Benshan, Dasheri, Swarnarekha and Alphonso Totapuri, Rasamari, Punari and Mallika are available for sale. There are 51 farms that have set up stalls to market their mangoes.

Vice Director for Horticulture Krishna Ukkund said, “We are planning to promote Miyazaki cultivation in the Koppal district. The department will help farmers on how to cultivate this variety on their farms.”
