The first lawsuit involving the cantaloupe salmonella outbreak has been made

The Pritzker Hageman food safety lawyers have filed their first suit stemming from the rapid growth of a Salmonella Sundsvall outbreak that is linked to Trufresh cantaloupe, which is sold under the name brands Malichita as well as Rudy.

Pritzker Hageman’s Salmonella legal team represents families of 13-month old child who was diagnosed with a serious Salmonella illness after eating the contaminated cantaloupe on a platter bought at Sam’s Club. The boy spent several days in hospital suffering from severe and painful symptoms, which included vomiting, bloody diarrhea as well as fever.

Cantaloupe Salmonella Outbreak Grows, Lawsuits to Follow

The 22nd of November Sofia Produce, operating under the brand name “Trufresh,” recalled Malichita and Rudy cantaloupes associated with the multi-state Salmonella outbreak. The CDC states that, on December 30, the very least 117 individuals have been afflicted by Salmonella across 34 states.

This cantaloupe Salmonella epidemic has led to serious illnesses that could kill two victims in Minnesota. There were dozens of cases identified in long-term care facilities as well as childcare facilities. The Salmonella outbreak is a major danger to the weakest people in our community, such as senior citizens, children and people with weak immune systems. These have the greatest chance of suffering from serious problems.
