New treatment offers effective browning control for organic fruit processors

Drywite has introduced ProFruit®, a new powder-based treatment developed for fruit processors looking for an effective solution to browning while maintaining the requirements of organic production.

Made from organic ingredients and certified for use in organic production, ProFruit is designed to help maintain the fresh appearance and taste of processed fruit, while reducing browning and helping to extend the shelf life of chilled, loose-pack fruit products by up to seven days.
The treatment is particularly gentle and effective on softer fruits, as well as apples and melon,
making it suitable for a range of fresh-cut and processed fruit applications.

Effective results with economical use
ProFruit has been developed with both performance and cost in mind. The treatment provides
results typically associated with higher-cost fruit treatments, while offering an economical solution for processors.

For fruit processors, maintaining appearance and quality throughout the shelf life of a product is essential, particularly where browning can lead to unnecessary waste and reduced consumer appeal.

ProFruit is designed to help fruit retain a fresh appearance and taste for longer, supporting
processors in reducing waste and extending the marketable life of their products.

All ingredients used in ProFruit are food grade, of organic origin, and meet European legislation.

“ProFruit gives organic fruit processors an effective and economical way to manage browning while retaining the benefits of compatibility with organic production,” says Saffie Dowty, Sales Director at Drywite. “We have long been recognised as a leading name in potato preservatives, with almost 100 years of experience in the industry, and ProFruit is a welcome addition to our fruit processing treatments and organic range as we continue to expand our offering in this area.”

ProFruit forms part of Drywite’s growing range of fresh produce processing treatments, developed from the company’s long experience in helping processors maintain the quality and appearance of fresh produce.
