Kazakhstan bans apple imports until end of 2026

Kazakhstan has introduced a temporary ban on apple imports from third countries and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states, according to an order signed by the acting Minister of Agriculture.

The restriction applies to apple imports by all modes of transport from September 3 through December 31, 2026.

According to the Agriculture Ministry, the measure is intended to support domestic growers and maintain sales of locally grown apples.

The ban does not apply to apples transported through Kazakhstan in transit. Shipments dispatched before September 3 under the relevant customs procedures are also excluded.

Apples that had already physically entered Kazakhstan before the restriction took effect can continue to enter the market, provided the required supporting documentation is available.

The order entered into force on September 3 and will remain applicable through the end of 2026.
