Tajikistan and Russia establish joint venture for fruit exports

Tajikistan and Russia have established a joint venture, Taj-Rus-Export, to facilitate fruit supplies to the Russian market. The company was created following agreements reached between Tajikistan’s Export Agency and major Russian retail chains during a working visit by a Tajik delegation.

The first shipments through the new company were made in May and June, including 19 tonnes of cherries, 58 tonnes of apricots and 10.5 tonnes of local plums. The partners are also discussing the establishment of joint agricultural logistics companies to support fruit supplies between the two countries.

Grapes remain an important part of Tajikistan’s agricultural exports to Russia. In 2025, Tajikistan shipped around 7,400 tonnes of grapes to Russia, with supplies reaching several Russian regions.
