
Kyrgyzstan imported 4,206 tonnes of onions and garlic in January-April 2026, up 47.5% from the same period a year earlier, according to National Statistics Committee data. In value terms, imports rose by 11% to $1.4 million, from $1.2 million in January-April 2025.
Uzbekistan supplied 3,692 tonnes, accounting for 88% of total imports, worth $1.037 million. Supplies from Uzbekistan increased 1.9 times from 1,924 tonnes worth $584,000 a year earlier. Imports from Kazakhstan rose to 203 tonnes worth $29,000, compared with 50 tonnes worth $16,000 in the same period of 2025.
Purchases from China fell to 311 tonnes worth $305,000, from 516 tonnes a year earlier. Tajikistan, which supplied 363 tonnes in January-April 2025, was no longer among suppliers in the same period of 2026.
