ZON sales increased by 10% in 2024

The turnover of the fruit and vegetable marketing organisation ZON in Venlo in 2024 was 328 million euros. This is 10% higher than in 2023 and in line with the cooperative’s growth target. Sales growth was mainly driven by an increase in acreage and volume supplied. Prices were lower on average. The result for the financial year 2024 is positive, with an after-tax result of approximately €6.16 million. This is significantly better than in 2023, which ended with a result of €4.07 million, and also higher than budgeted for 2024.

For ZON, the year 2024 was marked by the implementation of actions arising from the new strategic plan 2024–2028. This means the organisation is focusing on continued growth, combined with at least a break-even result for the core business and further tightening of indirect costs. The goal of making ZON’s core business financially sound has been achieved.

ZON is no longer dependent on income from rental revenue from the property company Hines and dividends from the Holding Company Packaging. These financial resources are now being used to support the continued implementation of ZON’s strategy.

More details can be found in ZON’s 2024 annual report.
