Vehicle Trailer Refrigeration Units for sale through Carrier Transicold

Carrier Transicold now offers two models of the Vector(tm) trailer-based refrigeration. It offers extremely high efficiencies as well as significantly lower emissions to ensure regulatory compliance as well as enhanced environmental sustainability. Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier Global Corporation.

“The Vector 8700 single-temperature unit and the Vector 8700 single-temperature unit as well as the Vector 8800MT multi-temperature model continue the tradition of E-Drive(tm) an all-electric refrigeration technology developed through Carrier Transicold, and used by thousands of fleets across the globe,” said Bill Maddox Director of Products Management, Truck Trailer Americas, Carrier Transicold. “These top-of-the-line units lower the amount of particulate matter that is released into the atmosphere by 96%, and provide significant improvements in efficiency of fuel compared to the standard Vector units.”

These new models feature an upgraded version of the intelligent engine found in Carrier Transicold’s platform for trailers. The benefits of the unit include:

  • Improved compliance – As of new regulations, the top quality Vector units guarantee lifetime complying with CARB’s (CARB) stricter emission rules for refrigeration systems on trailers.
  • A significant improvement in fuel efficiency – The modern engine for both models features common rail fuel injection that optimizes energy delivery, which reduces the consumption by five to ten percent. A new speed called “eco speed” known as “eco speed” reduces the engine’s RPM at intervals when the conditions permit a significant improvement in efficiency when compared with normal low-speed operation as well as delivering more energy savings.
  • More sustainable They use the R-452A refrigerant, which has the potential for global warming 45 percent lower than the potential of the standard transport refrigeration unit refrigerant R-404A. A highly efficient standard rail fuel system, as well as the diesel oxidation catalyst reduce NOx, particulate and hydrocarbon emissions to their lowest levels ever and make them one of the greenest models available in the Vector Series for fleets seeking environmentally sustainable alternatives.
  • Electric standby built-in – The unit’s capacity for freezing and refrigeration remains unchanged when using the built-in electric standby features unlike other refrigeration units that lose up to 26percent of nominal capacity when they use standby power. When in use it is possible to use the Vector units’ standby function eliminates exhaust as well as noise and emissions and also reduces operational costs.
  • E-Drive Technology simplifies maintenance and allows for a more efficient model in which the diesel engine is directly connected to a generator with high output that generates power for the electric refrigeration system. This eliminates many commonly serviceable parts and making it more manageable to repair.

They are fitted with Carrier Transicold’s top-of-the-line Lynx(r) Fleet telematics solution that allows remote monitoring of temperature as well as location and movement, as well as the system’s performance (subscription is required).

Carrier Transicold’s CARB-compliant TRUs can help fleets cut down on their environmental impact and help Carrier achieve its 2030 environmental, Social and Governance Goal to reduce the carbon footprint of customers in one Gigaton.
