Hong Kong fresh produce trade show expands buyer and technology programs

AFL 2026 introduces an expanded Global Buyer Program, offering qualified buyers complimentary access and additional benefits. FreshMatch, AFL’s matchmaking platform, allows registered buyers to browse participating exhibitors, identify relevant suppliers, and pre-schedule one-on-one meetings before arriving in Hong Kong. The platform has attracted interest from importers, retailers, distributors, and sourcing professionals worldwide.

FreshTech: A first for Asia
AFL 2026 also marks the debut of FreshTech, a dedicated technology platform for the fresh produce value chain in Asia. Covering more than 1,000 sqm within the exhibition hall, FreshTech brings together more than 30 technology exhibitors and a two-day expert program across six verticals, including smart agriculture, packhouse automation, AI, cold chain intelligence, traceability, and sustainability technology. The FreshTech Innovation Awards have received entries from technology companies across the industry. Ten nominees have been selected, with the winners to be announced on the FreshTech Stage on 3 September.

Asiafruit Knowledge Centre
Every ticket includes access to the Asiafruit Knowledge Centre, powered by Knowledge Partner Asiafruit Magazine and located in Hall 3. The program covers three streams: Asiafruit Congress, Asiafruit Business Forum, and Asiafruit Showcase, alongside the Asia Fruit Awards. Speakers include Driscoll’s Jae Chun and Jiunn Shih, Sunkist’s Cassie Howard, Dole China’s Leo Li, and Del Monte’s Mohammed Abbas. The program also includes category sessions on berries, stonefruit, and avocados, as well as forums on nuts and dried fruit, and frozen fruit and vegetables.

Sundowner
AFL 2026 will hold the Sundowner Party on 2 September at AWE, East Lobby, from 16:30 to 19:00. The networking event is open to exhibitors and visitors, with a live band and drinks served from 16:45 while stocks last.

China Study Tour
Asia Fruit Logistica 2026 will also expand its China Study Tour, providing delegates with guided access to regional fresh produce markets, importers, and retailers. The program includes a pre-show stop in Hong Kong, followed by post-show tours to Shanghai and Zhengzhou, covering sourcing, retail development, and supply-chain operations across Greater China.
