There are more mangoes at Maharashtra markets: Prices drop

The mango season is in full swing with an increase in the arrival of Alphonso, Paid and Kesar mango varieties available in the Kolhapur APMC market. They are imported from the Konkan and various other regions. Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes however have yet to make it into the market due to clouds and weather. Due to the increasing demand, cost of the average has decreased from around Rs 1,200 per dozen to around Rs 400 for a dozen. It is expected to increase further in advance of the Gudi Padwa festival, which is scheduled for Monday, March 21.

The supply of Alphonso mangoes to Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC), Vashi has increased 3 times more than March 2022, with the fruits coming from Devgad, Ratnagiri and Raigad within the Konkan belt flooding into the market hindustantimes.com reported.
