Plantations International is very pleased to announce that, through its fully owned Indonesian subsidiary PT Gaharu Kapita Indonesia, it is currently opening its third Indonesian office in the new “Office 88” office building, which is part of the prestigious Kota Kasablanka shopping mall and entertainment complex.
According to Plantations International’s Asia-Pacific sales director, Mr. Ryan Hannigan, PT Gaharu Kapita Indonesia has secured a long-term lease on over 350 square meters of prime office space on the 22nd floor of the Office 88 building, and the new office has floor-to-ceiling windows and the most amazing views over the the entire city “as far as the eye can see.” Mr. Hannigan went on to add that by securing such a large office in Indonesia’s premier business city, PT Gaharu Kapita Indonesia has secured its Jakarta expansion for many years to come.
Mr. Hannigan also said that PT Gaharu Kapita Indonesia is currently looking to expand into the Indonesian cities of Surabaya, Medan and Balikpapan on the Island of Borneo, where the company also plans to have additional agarwood plantations.
Agarwood, also known as Gaharu, Aloeswood and Eaglewood, is a resinous, fragrant and highly valuable heartwood produced by the Aquilaria tree. The Aquilaria tree is a large evergreen native to South East Asia. Agarwood has been used for thousands of years in the Middle East and Asia both at home and in religious ceremonies. When pure Agarwood resin is put through the distillation process, what is extracted is called “Oud Oil”.
Agarwood is recognized as the most precious wood in the world with an extremely high value; it can bring over USD 7,500 per kilo for its woodchips and over USD 50,000 per kilo for top quality Oud Oil. This highly coveted Oud Oil is also known as “Liquid Gold,” and it is in great demand by the fragrance industry as it is extensively used in some of the most exclusive and expensive fragrances.
