Retailer in Estonia drops Israeli produce as supply falls to zero

SOK has confirmed that its Prisma chain in Estonia no longer carries fruit and vegetables from Israel. According to Elomaa, “In practice, this means that there are no longer any fruits and vegetables from Israel in the assortment. Individual products, such as household appliances, will be sold until stock is depleted.” She noted that Israeli-origin items had previously represented an extremely limited share of Prisma’s fresh offering.

However, the publication reported that some Israeli goods, including SodaStream beverages and melons, can still be found in Prisma’s Estonian online store. Israeli citrus traditionally remains the country’s main fresh export category.

SOK stated that the decision also considered the European Commission’s plan to suspend the trade provisions of the Association Agreement between the EU and Israel. “We are closely monitoring the progress of peace negotiations and the policy of the European Union and will adjust our actions as necessary,” Elomaa said. She added that the company continues to comply with its existing agreements and obligations.
