Vegetables that are sold by weight are often subject to product losses due to overweight or tedious manual corrections. “The MHP 1200 combination weigher from TopControl offers a quick and efficient solution,” explains Michael Saltuari, the company’s CEO. “In just a few seconds, it calculates the ideal combination to achieve the target weight with no waste or time lost. Designed for delicate vegetables such as peppers, courgettes, and chicory, the MHP 1200 guarantees maximum speed and precision while reducing waste by up to 40%.”

TopControl explains that the main advantages of the new system are a 60% increase in profit due to higher efficiency and less waste; a 20-40% reduction in waste, in many cases even below 1%; a 40-70% reduction in personnel, as only two or three operators per machine are needed; the ability to process up to 30 packs per minute; automatic handling of color combinations (e.g., in peppers); and gentle processing, thanks to controlled movements and targeted transfers.

“Since using TopControl’s MHP1200 in our pepper line, we have minimized waste and halved the number of staff required for packaging. The machine has improved our efficiency enormously, so we are fully satisfied,” said the production manager of a major fruit and vegetable company in southern Germany.

The MHP1200 can be used as a stand-alone solution or added to existing packaging lines. Combined with TopControl’s foodProcess software, it becomes an efficiency enhancer, capturing, visualizing, and analyzing production data in real time.
