Asparagus
Movement of Mexican asparagus crossings through Arizona, California, and Texas is expected to decrease. Trading is slow at higher prices, with large bunched 11-pound cartons mostly at 38.75-40.75 and standard at 36.75-38.75. Supplies are very light, and most shipments are from previous commitments. Peruvian imports through Southern California are expected to remain steady, with jumbo bunched at 50.00-54.00, large mostly 39.00-41.00, and standard 34.75-36.75.
Avocado
Mexican avocado crossings through Texas are expected to remain steady. Trading of 32-36s is fairly active, while other sizes are slower at higher prices. Hass carton 2-layer is at 50.25-55.25 for 32-36s, 40.25-45.25 for 40s, 31.25-33.25 for 48s, 29.25-31.25 for 60s, 30.25 for 70s, and 26.25 for 84s. Organic 48s are 53.25-56.25. Peruvian imports through Philadelphia and New York are expected to decrease, with 48s and 60s at 26.00-28.75. In California’s South District, 32-36s are mostly 48.25-50.25, 48s at 40.25-42.25, 70s at 36.25-38.25, with organic 48s at 59.25-62.25.
Blueberry
Oregon and Washington blueberry movement is expected to decrease, with flats of 12 6-oz cups mostly 12.00-14.00 and 1-pint cups at 16.00-18.00. Organic pints are mostly 26.00-29.00. British Columbia crossings through northwest Washington remain steady, with 6-oz cups at 12.00-14.00 and pints at 14.00-16.00. Peruvian imports are increasing, but supplies are too limited to establish a market. Chilean imports are ending, with insufficient volume to quote prices.
Cucumber
Mexican cucumber crossings through Texas are expected to decrease, with large mostly 12.95-14.95 and medium mostly 9.95-10.95. Otay Mesa crossings are steady, with medium mostly 11.00-12.00 and large 10.00-11.00. Michigan supplies are increasing, with medium mostly 16.00-18.00. New York supplies are too limited to establish a market.
Tomato
Central District California tomato movement is steady, with extra-large at 10.35 per 25-pound loose carton, large at 12.35-13.35, and medium at 9.35. Mexican vine-ripes through Texas are steady, with 4×4-4x5s mostly 18.95-20.95 and 5×5-5x6s mostly 16.95-18.95. Otay Mesa crossings are expected to increase, with 4×4-4x5s at 16.00-19.00 and 5×5-5x6s mostly 16.00-18.00.
