
U Kyaw Soe from the Myanmar Avocado Producer and Exporter Association (MAVO) explained that farm owners must cooperate in inspecting six prevalent insects essential for exporting avocados to China. The Myanmar Fruits, Flowers, and Vegetable Producer and Exporter Association stated that stakeholders should work together for exports aimed at China in October. The Shan State Agriculture Department head provided details on Myanmar’s annual avocado exports and outlined import requirements for key markets like China, India, Russia, and Middle Eastern countries.
On July 19, 2025, the Agriculture Department in southern Shan State organized a workshop focusing on customs inspection and safety norms of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC). This was done in collaboration with MAVO, seeking to align Myanmar avocado standards with European benchmarks.
MAVO’s chairperson established a farmer public company with export orientations towards Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand this season. The association supports the acceleration of agricultural imports, including fertilizers and pesticides. The head of the Agriculture Department further discussed the import conditions of potentially influential markets.
In addition, U Ye Lin Oo, a grower, addressed plant nutrient management tactics in a meeting involving growers and business entities. Farm owners also committed to enhancing their export strategies.
