IFPA ANZ appoints David Di Pietro and Ben Reilly to board

The International Fresh Produce Association ANZ (IFPA ANZ) has announced the appointment of two new board members, David Di Pietro, CEO of Lynch Group Australia, and Ben Reilly, fresh produce business manager at Steritech. The appointments were confirmed during the IFPA ANZ’s annual general meeting held on May 15 in East Melbourne.

David Di Pietro brings extensive experience in the floral industry, having joined Lynch Group, Australia’s largest floral wholesaler, in 2016. His background includes leadership roles in the Australian manufacturing, retail, and FMCG sectors, with companies such as BHP, Woolworths, George Weston Foods, and Breville. Lynch Group operates a significant flower production network, including China’s largest rose-growing farm and grower partnerships in countries such as Ecuador, Colombia, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, and Kenya.

Ben Reilly, the fresh produce business manager at Steritech, has led the development of phytosanitary irradiation in Australia over the past decade. His work with Steritech, a major provider of sterilization and decontamination services, has positioned Australia as a leader in phytosanitary treatments. Reilly’s development of a QR code labelling system for food safety compliance has been adopted by Australia’s largest retailers.

Dean Gall, chair of IFPA ANZ, emphasized that the new appointments reflect the association’s commitment to diverse industry representation, bringing expertise from across the floral, biosecurity, and postharvest sectors. IFPA ANZ Managing Director Belinda Wilson noted that the new board members’ experience aligns with the organization’s focus on building value through connection, advocacy, and insight.
