Recent advancements in berry genetics have significantly reshaped the blueberry industry—delivering improved yields, greater profitability, and a better consumer experience. However, as the market diversifies, so does the need for objective benchmarks that differentiate premium genetics from standard varietals.
A newly developed Price Quality Index (PQI) from Agronometrics is a first of its kind analytical framework designed to shed light on how varietal quality influences blueberry export pricing from Peru. As the country continues to grow into a global powerhouse in blueberry production, the need for transparency, differentiation, and actionable data has never been greater. The PQI offers a timely tool for stakeholders to identify where value is being created and how to capture it.
The new industry benchmarking tool is set to debut on September 19 at 11:30 am EST through a webinar. The webinar will introduce attendees to the motivation behind the index, the methodology used to create it and the value it offers stakeholders across the supply chain. The session will outline how the PQI can be used to track changes in varietal performance and thereby inform commercial strategy.
