Brazil renews tariffs on garlic imports from China

At its 229th meeting, the Executive Management Committee of the Foreign Trade Chamber (Gecex-Camex), part of Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services, renewed trade defense measures on fresh and refrigerated garlic imported from China.

The decision extends existing tariffs, except for Chinese exporters that have agreed with the Brazilian government to sell garlic at prices that do not undermine domestic competitiveness.

The renewed measure will remain in effect for another 12 months.
