“We have concluded a series of strategic collaborations that are fundamental for the positioning of our flagship products in Central Italy,” explains Giuseppe Pellegriti, owner of the Sicilian brand Terre di Sicilia specialising in the marketing of pistachio products.

The first half of 2025 recorded a positive growth for the company, the result of a targeted distribution strategy, the expansion of the sales network, and the adoption of new communication solutions, i.e., all factors that have helped strengthen the market position.

High quality is considered the primary element for consumer loyalty, and is supported by a widespread distribution. The company pays special attention to pistachios, processed in various forms from selected raw materials, while maintaining a good quality/price ratio. Consumers seek products with authenticity, taste, and traceability of the supply chain, even when they are paying attention to their spending.

“Sicily is a wild and noble land capable of looking to novelties, but always with an eye on tradition. Every area tells us a wonderful story, whether through its territory and landscapes or through tradition, whether through its colours and scents or through taste. At ‘Terre di Sicilia’, we love our territory and we desire to promote it and tell customers about it through the taste and scents of our products.”

The supply includes processed pistachio products such as spreads, granola, shelled pistachios, and pesto, available in both the organic and traditional versions. Hazelnut, almond, and peanut spreads, made from selected raw materials, complete the range.

For pistachio lovers, there is a 100% spread and a pesto characterised by richness and persistence of flavour, made from selected roasted pistachios. The range also includes dehydrated seasonings for pasta, risotto, seasoning mixes, spices, and herbs.

As highlighted by Giuseppe Pellegriti, the company’s strategy focuses on quality and control of the supply chain. Today’s consumers demand transparency on the origin of ingredients and the processing, favouring transparent, sustainable, and Italian supply chains. The fact that products are Italian-made is a distinctive element, highly appreciated, especially in foreign markets. The objective is to provide customers with all the elements for an informed choice.

In Bronte, pistachio harvesting takes place in alternate years, traditionally in odd years. The year 2025 is therefore a production year. The area produces around 32 tonnes on 3000 hectares cultivated between 400 and 900 metres above sea level, accounting for 90% of Italian production and 1% of the world production. The July rains mitigated the recent drought, forecasting a good year in terms of yields and volumes.

Among the novelties being tested is a basil pesto, prized for its taste and flavour. It is a short-chain product which includes basil, domestic pine nuts, extra virgin olive oil, Grana Padano, Pecorino, Parmigiano, sea salt, and garlic.

The main sales channels include big retail chains and the H&R sector (bars, pastry shops, ice cream parlours). The company intends to strengthen its internationalisation process, building on the commercial success already achieved in markets such as the United States, Switzerland, France, and Germany.
